I have recently been watching a lot of videos from a channel called Trope Anatomy. I love watching video essays(I live to learn :> put that on a shirt), but I hadn’t ever found one channel that covers a lot of the media I’m interested in until I found this one. His videos cover tropes, which are essentially commonly used themes, characters, and plots that are found in movies and TV, and I really enjoy them. The videos span from 8 to 18 minutes, and they succeed at being both informational and entertaining, a task that other channels can lose people on if it’s all lecture, lecture, lecture. He uses one of my favorite thinking map styles, the Compare and Contrast, pictured here:

Uh why is this so big sry guys…

Obviously Trope Anatomy doesn’t use thinking maps, but his videos normally provide good and bad examples of a trope, giving reasons why some examples fail and why others succeed. Like I said before, I’ve been really liking a lot of his videos recently, and I think he can become a reliable channel to visit for quality video essays on TV and movies. Check him out if you’d like, I think he deserves your audience!

These are some of my favorite videos he’s done so far. His channel is here if you want to check it out!
