American Vandal

At first glance, American Vandal is a four hour mockumentary about d*cks, but after watching it you will find it is so much more than that. My sister and I started watching it just to try it out, and we couldn’t stop. It’s hilarious and addicting, and towards the end we were yelling at the screen with our own predictions on #whodrewthedicks. American Vandal’s stellar acting and feel-good message will leave you with a warm feeling, hope for the future, and an itch for a spray can.

logline: A high school is rocked by an act of vandalism, but the top suspect pleads innocence and finds an ally in a filmmaker. A satirical true crime mystery.

My Favorite Characters:

  • Jimmy Tatro as Dylan Maxwell - Tatro’s performance as Dylan was so good that I had to watch a few interviews with him to make sure they weren’t the same person. Dylan Maxwell is a lovable idiot with layers, and was intriguing to watch him grow over the season.

  • Tyler Alvarez as Peter Maldonado - His serious looks and grim voice make him the perfect documentarian, and it was hilarious to see Peter passionately defend Dylan or come up with a new theory on who the true culprit was.

Fun Fact: The show(first season) won a Peabody Award and was the most binged show on Netflix in 2017.
