Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Don’t come for me, but this is probably my favorite Star Wars movie. It’s just SO GOOD. It has a great and easy-to-follow storyline, much like the original trilogy, but the form of a more modern movie, which gives it the “best of both” kind of vibe. The character development throughout the movie is also amazing. The whole gang has some sort of change, affecting their personal view on the Rebellion and its cause, and the actors did a wonderful job of portraying that. This movie is also visually appealing. There are certain scenes that I sometimes just love to rewatch because there’s just so much to take in, and the overall aesthetic of the movie is really cool. I could easily watch this movie anytime and never get tired of it.

logline: When Jyn Erso is rescued from an Empire prison, she discovers that her father, an unwilling engineer for the Death Star, has placed a weakness deep inside its workings. In order to strengthen the Rebel cause, she teams up with Captain Cassian Andor to find the weakness and destroy the weapon before it can be used against them. Together, they attempt to steal the Death Star plans to save the weakened Rebel Alliance.

My favorite characters:

  • Diego Luna as Cassian Andor - character development at its finest!! i loved his whole story arc, and i’m super excited to see more of him in his new disney+ series. also he’s SO good looking. who let him look like that??????

  • Alan Tudyk as K-2SO - the absolute king of one-liners! he’s so funny and it’s great to have a droid in the cinematic universe that is more human and isn’t afraid to voice their (many) opinions.

This movie is rated PG-13. Here’s why:

  • Extended Scenes of Sci-Fi Violence and Action

Something I liked: i loved all the callbacks and references to the original star wars trilogy, given that the ending of this movie basically overlaps with the opening of a new hope. keep an eye out for them when you give this movie a watch :)

Where to Watch:

  • Disney+

  • YouTube, Apple, Google Play Store, Amazon Prime, and Vudu for rent or purchase.
