Yara Shahidi

Best known for her role as Zoey Johnson in both black-ish and grown-ish, Yara Shahidi is also a style icon and activist. She was also in the movie adaptation of The Sun Is Also a Star, co-starring with Charles Melton. She’s an incredible advocate on issues such as the Black Lives Matter movement, STEM awareness, and gender justice. Aside from her talents as an actress, she’s also known for her style. Beyonce herself sent her samples from her newest IVY PARK collection before it was dropped. I personally only know Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, but I think her views on social justice might outshine her acting career, which is a great way to use her platform to make a difference and spread the word to her fans. In 2018, she launched Eighteen x 18, a national initiative that encourages civil engagement and voting for young people. She’s a great source of inspiration to Gen Z’s everywhere.
