The Umbrella Academy

The Umbrella Academy is an easily bingeable, exciting show, full of cool action scenes and super powers!(see: The Boys, I have a type ig) The plot is pretty easy to follow and it’s not suuuper deep, which makes it one of my favorite shows to rewatch if I need to take my mind off of something or if I’m not willing to go searching for a new show. The action scenes are even more fun to watch because of the Hargreeves’ abilities, and every episode is thrilling and well-shot. Lastly, all the characters are super interesting, and I found it fun to pick and root for my favorites, along with yelling at others I didn’t like as much… The Umbrella Academy will ensnare you and leave you waiting eagerly for the next season.

logline: A broken family, (almost)all gifted with supernatural abilities comes together to mourn the passing of their father, only to remind each other why they broke apart in the first place. A message, however, changes everything for the Hargreeves when they find out the world is ending in eight days - and that they have to spend more time together to save it.

Fun Fact: The Umbrella Academy is an adaptation of a comic series by the same name, written and created by Gerard Way - former lead singer of the band My Chemical Romance.

My favorite characters:

Robert Sheeran as Klaus - Klaus in three words would be crazy, depressed, and loveable. He makes up a lot of the series’ humor while still having many serious moments, and it was always entertaining to see him interact with the show’s characters. Klaus carries the show’s energy and it’s obvious why he’s everyone’s favorite.

Aidan Gallagher as Five - Sophia’s favorite :P. It’s hilarious to watch him cope with the fact that he’s a sixty year old man stuck in the body of a thirteen year old boy, and it’s only a little weird to watch him interact with his wife…which is a mannequin. Five is snarky, possibly addicted to coffee, and definitely crazy, but we all have our little idiosyncrasies($5 word for u).

Least Favorite Character:

Tom Hopper as Luther - Yuck. You’ll see.

Where to Watch: Netflix

Rating: TV-14 for violence, some strong language, and drug usage.

Number of Seasons: 1, season two coming in 2020(most likely)
