unpregnant!! man, this movie is so fun. it was funny, feel-good without being cheesy, and still got a great message across. the topic of abortion is something that is highly stigmatized, but this movie does a wonderful job of talking about it, which is especially important in today’s climate. even though this movie was really silly and a really fun to watch, there are some moments that are kind of frightening if you think about it, like the pro-lifers that veronica and bailey accidentally befriend, and just the entire fact that they have to drive across FOUR STATES just to get an abortion. our country is F*CKING ridiculous. sorry. just had to get a little mad right there. veronica has a little monologue toward the end of the movie, where she wonders why she can’t just walk down the street and get an abortion because she needs one. she shouldn’t have to be blocked by the law, or scared of what her friends and family might think of her. it’s heartbreaking, and it makes you just really wish that our country wasn’t this way. on that happy note, this movie is genuinely one of the best i’ve seen in a while. Haley Lu Richardson and Barbie Ferreira did amazing jobs in their respective roles, and i think that the friendship between the two actors is really shown in their characters. it’s a really important movie to watch, especially with all of the scary things happening with planned parenthood at the moment. it makes you want to get educated, and fight for not only human rights, but for what’s morally right.

My favorite characters:

  • Barbie Ferreira as Bailey - barbie is so iconic that i could explode. she’s such an amazing actress, and she portrays bailey’s laid back attitude so well. SPOILERS! the relationship between bailey and her estranged father is so heartbreaking, especially the scene toward the ending where she goes to see him in new mexico.

This movie is rated PG-13. Here’s why:

  • Mature Thematic Content

  • Sexual Content

  • Language

  • Drug References

Something I liked: oh boy, how i loved the “since u been gone” limo scene. the feeling of listening to the same song on repeat is a sense of joy that is completely unmatched. i was singing and dancing along with veronica and bailey even though it was almost 2 in the morning. it did make me very nostalgic for pre-COVID times, where i could spend time with my friends and sing as loud as we wanted.
